Dr. Peg Hughes is Chair of the 部门 of 特殊教育 and Program Coordinator of the Early Childhood 特殊教育 and K-12 Education Specialist Credential Programs. Dr. Hughes has extensive clinical teaching and diagnostic practice with children and students of all 残疾的人 ages birth through twenty-one years. Sudha’s research is focused on how literacy practices using pedagogies based on socio-cultural theory like multiliteracies provide challenging and empowering education for students 有残疾的. She is interested in interrogating the deficit thinking surrounding students 有残疾的 and promoting anti-deficit pedagogies in the classroom. She is examining the use of constructivism in special education and teacher perceptions 需要广泛支持的学生的能力. Dr. Saili S. Kulkarni's research highlights the intersections of disability and race 在教师教育方面. Dr. Madigan's work in schools included the inclusion of children with special needs in general education settings, and more recently, research on the effects of single-gender special education for female students identified with mild to moderate 残疾的人.
